Programming

We are excited to provide a platform that reflects the unique perspectives, concerns, and cultural richness of the coastal area. The sound and the content are curated right here 24/7 by people who live in the community. We don’t have consultants or corporate playlists, the sound of the Coast reflects the vibe of the community and its residents.

We were asked recently while visiting a local used record store, “what is your musical format?” We responded that its not just about the music format, its about the overall experience. This ‘experience’ is ever-present on the the air, the web, and through interactions with the community. We were chatting with a local fisherman in a coffee shop down the Harbor and he remarked that there isn’t a local outlet for informative conversations around some of the environmental and sustainability issues our local waterways are facing. Our goal at The Coast, is to raise issues that are important to our coastal community while providing music programming that reflects the community.

We take a freeform approach to our music programming. We play a very broad range of music in a format known as AAA/Triple-A (Adult Album Alternative) with a playlist of more than 5,000 songs from wide-ranging genres including blues, reggae, folk-rock, pop, and rock and roll. We feature music from local musicians and bring in nationally recognized programs such as eTown which brings together musicians and conversations about social and environmental issues.

Our programming grid below is under construction. We’re working on it – we promise.
