At 101.3 The Coast, we’re doubling down on local music. Spotlight Local highlights artists from the South Shore and Greater Boston area by sprinkling new local tracks into our daily programming.
If you’re a local artist or band with a great-sounding recording, we want to hear it.
What We’re Looking For
- One song per submission
- High-quality audio: WAV, FLAC, or MP3
- Preferred: WAV or FLAC (44.1kHz / 16-bit or better)
- MP3s should be 320 kbps if possible
- Clean edits (we are family friendly)
What to Include
- Artist / band name and contact info
- Song title and genre
- Short artist bio
- Links to your website and social platforms
- Optional: a short Station ID in your own voice introducing your song
Optional Station ID
If your song is selected, we may ask for (or you can include) a short Station ID recorded in your own voice. This is a chance to make a simple, human connection with our listeners.
Suggested script:
“This is [artist / band name], and you’re listening to [my song] on 101.3 The Coast.”
You’re also welcome to add a brief personal touch — where you’re from or a line that feels true to you — as long as it stays natural and conversational.
A few tips:
- Keep it short (5–10 seconds)
- Sound like you’re talking to one person, not performing
- Record in a quiet space
- WAV preferred; MP3 is perfectly fine
We’re all about real voices and real connections — that’s what Spotlight Local is about.
What Happens Next
Our music team listens to every submission. While we can’t guarantee airplay, tracks that fit our sound and programming will be added into rotation as part of Spotlight Local.
If we need anything else from you, we’ll reach out directly.
Submit Your Music
By submitting music, you confirm that you own or control the rights to the recording and grant 101.3 The Coast (WFNX-LP) permission to review and, if selected, broadcast and stream the track.
